The Office for the Support and Integration of Migrants provides appropriate accommodation for applicants for temporary protection and persons granted temporary protection who require it. Persons are initially received at the accommodation centre in Logatec and are then accommodated in available places in accommodation centres and other accommodation facilities.
ACCOMMODATION AT A PRIVATE ADDRESS
Applicants for temporary protection may find accommodation at a private address, with relatives or acquaintances, or arrange accommodation on the market. Information on your address of residence, which you are unable to register at the Administrative Unit, must be submitted as part of the procedure for the recognition of temporary protection status. If you move during this period, you must inform the Administrative Unit where you submitted your application for temporary protection.
Accommodation at a private address is at the applicant’s own expense.
ACCOMMODATION IN ACCOMMODATION CENTRES AND OTHER ACCOMMODATION FACILITIES
Applicants for temporary protection may be accommodated in various accommodation centres managed by the Office where they are provided with clothing, footwear and meals that does not violate their religious beliefs.
Before being accommodated in an accommodation centre or other accommodation facility, an applicant for temporary protection must report to the accommodation centre in Logatec, where a preventive medical examination is carried out. If you refuse the examination, the Office will refuse to provide accommodation.
When accommodating an applicant for temporary protection, the Office takes into account the individual’s vulnerability, the principle of maintaining the unity of the family, and the availability of places in accommodation centres and other accommodation facilities. This means that you may not necessarily be accommodated in the centre of your choice.
An applicant for temporary protection who is an unaccompanied minor is accommodated, based on the opinion of the competent Social Work Centre, in an institution that is suitable for them and where appropriate treatment and care are ensured. They may also be accommodated with adult relatives or with a person who cared for them after their arrival in the Republic of Slovenia.
Applicants for temporary protection may also be placed in institutional care under the same conditions and procedures as citizens of the Republic of Slovenia. If it is not possible to place a person in institutional care, the Office may select an appropriate external provider to ensure adequate care and assistance.
