Changing types of residence permit is possible when you comply with the conditions, but you must still have a valid temporary residence permit.
Example: You live in Slovenia for your studies. You have completed your studies within the deadline and want to find a job. Prior to the expiry of the validity of the residence permit for study purposes and on the basis of a concluded employment contract, you apply for a further residence permit at the administrative unit for the purpose of employment.
