Eligible for reduced kindergarten payment is one of the parents with registered at least temporary residence in Slovenia, who needs to be subject to income tax in Slovenia and must have residence together with the child or in the same municipality. Parents who are not subject to income tax in Slovenia must pay the full price of the kindergarten programme their child is enrolled in.
Reduced kindergarten payment may be claimed for children enrolled in a public kindergarten, private kindergarten with a concession or private kindergarten financed from the municipal budget. Parents are entitled to reduced kindergarten payment from the first day of the month after the submission of their claim, for a period of one year. If during the eligibility for reduced payment the facts and circumstances affecting this right change, the SWC decides anew on the entitlement to reduced payment.
