If your child is born in Slovenia, you do not need a residence permit for the child for the first 90 days. If the child does not acquire Slovenian citizenship in that time, the administrative unit will ex officio issue a residence permit, which will be extended for as long as the residence permit is issued for the child’s mother or father. If at least one of the parents has a permanent residence permit, this permit is also issued for the child.
