On 30 March 2021, the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia adopted the Act Amending the Foreigners Act – ZTuj-2F , which was published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia on 12 April 2021, No. 57/21.
The amendment ZTuj-2F enters into force on 27 April 2021 and starts to apply on 26 May 2021.
The main solutions of the amendment ZTuj-2F are presented on the website of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Slovenia.
Article 107 of the amendment ZTuj-2F stipulates that the Government Office for the Support and Integration of Migrants is responsible for implementing Slovene language learning programs, getting to know Slovene society and informing foreigners who are not EU citizens. The amendment ZTuj-2F therefore transfers the competence for the implementation of the listed areas from the Ministry of the Interior to the Government Office for the Support and Integration of Migrants.
